At the beginning of May urgent meeting of the City Council was held in Trogir on Position and perspectives of Shipyard Trogir d.d. The City Council was informed about and supported Integral development plan and restructuring programme giving its support to the Government of Republic of Croatia in restructuring of shipbuilding and preservation of jobs and it established a Commission for monitoring of situation at Shipyard Trogir. At its first, constituting meeting Josko Jarebic, the head of Economy and Tourism Department of the town of Trogir was elected chairman of the Commission, Ivan Bilic, opposition councillor of SDP (Socialist Democratic Party) and Ivan Tironi, the manager of Shipbuilding Sector of Shipyard Trogir were appointed vice chairman, and Mario Geic, the representative of Shipyard Trogir was appointed secretary.
So far three meetings of Commission were held. At its meeting held on June 9,2008 the City Council made a resolution demanding active participation of the town of Trogir in the whole privatisation process of the Shipyard Trogir in order to protect of interests of employees and citizens of Trogir.
