The ship Red Star 1, which navigates under the Panama flag, sailed into Dock 15 for overhaul. This RO-RO ship is designed to carry persons and cars, and performs a regular service between Italy and Albania. Red Star 1 was built in 1965; it is 100 m long and 18 m wide.
In the next several days on the ship, the rudder and the propeller shaft will be examined, the fenders on both sides of the ship removed, the anchor cables will be measured and replaced, and the steel works in the chain locker area will be performed. Apart from the specified works, the cleaning, as well as painting, of the underwater part of the hull will also be performed, and the protection anodes will be replaced.
