Brodotrogir d.d.

For a number of years, the professors from the Technical High School in Šibenik have organised visits to Brodotrogir d.d. for students of the marine engineering and computing programmes. This year as well, students from the 3rd and 4th grade had the opportunity to see the on-site construction of a ship and familiarise themselves with the phases of its construction. They also visited the ships located in the overhaul base and the host enabled them to visit the tanker which is being repaired in the outfitting quay.
To climb on such a big tanker and explore it was a completely new experience for them. For some, this visit was the first encounter with a ship of such type, so it was not surprising that they were more than happy with what they had seen.
For the students, visits like this one are an expansion of the theoretical knowledge which they acquired at school, but, as they say, it is much easier for them to link theory to practice if they can see it applied in reality, and it would also be a lot easier for them if the shipyard were in their immediate vicinity, so they could continually do practical work and prepare themselves for working in their professional field, since they are aware how important the knowledge of ships and their design is for their profession.  
After the visit, the students and professors left the shipyard looking very pleased and stating that they would love to attend the next launching in our shipyard.
