A group of students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of Split (FESB), accompanied by prof. Roko Markovina, PhD, and Assistant Professor Boris Ljubenkov, PhD, visited Brodotrogir d.d. The visit was organized as part of the curriculum carried out at the third year of the professional university study of Naval Architecture, and concerns the construction, repairs and maintenance of ships.
Through this type of field course, the professors try to integrate the theory and practice of shipbuilding in order to prepare the students as well as possible to work in the profession. A years-long cooperation with Brodotrogir d.d. and with other shipyards helps them with this. During organised visits, the students can see first-hand how ships are constructed and repaired, and they are given better insight into the various segments of shipbuilding, and eventually they find the one most interesting to them, in which they would want to start their careers as young experts.
