Brodotrogir and all its daughter companies – HBT d.o.o. , SCT d.o.o.,Tekol Trogir d.o.o., Trogir Piping d.o.o. – have been officially certificated by Bureau Veritas Certification Germany d.d. for implementation of ISO 50001:2011 standard for energy management systems. The certificate was obtained after certification audit and the final report prepared by Bureau Veritas Croatia at the beginning of the year.
Brodotrogir is the first shipyard in Croatia to implement this standard, i.e. energy management system, and to obtain the official certificate from Bureau Veritas Certification Germany d.d.
The certified standard means that the energy management requires continuous monitoring of consumption of all types of energies and energy products, realisation of recognised saving opportunities and energy cost reduction. Based on house rules, saving can be realised by different methods, such as switching off the lights in empty premises, switching off electric devices and equipment when unused, closing of doors and windows in air-conditioned rooms, intentional blocking of doors in air-conditioned rooms is strictly prohibited etc., with special recommendation from the Energy Management Team that the energy management system become a house rule for all Brodotrogir's employees.
By implementation of this standard, certain other standards and improvements were introduced, about which employees were informed by way of house rules posted on frequent places, instructions placed on the majority of machines and appropriate stickers attached next to light switches, informing about energy saving benefits.
